Mares

Broughtonvale Watercolour

This well coloured, athletic young mare is out of ‘Broughtonvale Minx Kote’ who was bred by us for racing.  She was unsuccessful – too slow and quiet and was sold several years later.  When the opportunity to purchase her first foal arrived we were elated.  She has been started under saddle showing exceptional versatility and style.  Shown twice only for:

SA STATE FUTURITY 2yr old Female winner Feb 2009

Champion 2 yr old ASH and Res Champ 2yr old ANSA March 2009

‘Sasha’ was making her mark as an outstanding mare in the show ring.  Unfortunately she suffered a cut tendon due to a paddock accident and is recuperating after surgery.  Her future as a saddle/show prospect is yet to be determined but breeding is a new and exciting opportunity.  With her colour and wonderful balanced athletic type her foals will be an asset to all.

Glen Lee Beacon

Winner of Maiden Campdraft Series1. Beacon would have to be out most reliable working mare. There are often fights who gets to ride her.

Led and Ridden Champions - now retired to stud duties.

Broughtonvale Triff

ASH/ASH mare that has completed well in the Open Hack ring ridden by junior riders and adults. Triff has an absolutely impeccable temperament and is a major asset as a brood mare.

This brilliant young mare has proven her ability from such a young age with wins and places at Royal level as a 2 year old. She continued her success in Led classes with multiple Champion Led Galloway and Supreme Led wins until broken as a 3 year old.  ‘Mem’ was leased to Kellie Bond from Deniliquin and has not looked back.

The young duo competed successfully in the Open Hack ring and the ASH ring throughout Vic and NSW.

Some of their successes include, but are not limited to:

Top Ten Childs Galloway at Vic Hygain Masters 2005

Top Ten Newcomer Galloway at VASA 2006

Runner-up Youth Point Score ASH Hack (13-18yrs) 2006

Winner Open Hack Challenge Melbourne Branch Show 2008

‘Mem’ has now returned home March 2009.
