We competed at
the Mildura Horse Complex Inc Winter Woollies EFA Show.
“Broughtonvale Memory” excelled yet again winning
the Led Any Other Breed and went on to be sashed Supreme
Led All Breed (representing ASH, of course). Mem opened
the ridden classes with a win in the Ridden Any Other
Breed and went on to win the Supreme Ridden All Breed.
Wonderful sponsorship was evident by the two quality
trophy rugs we took home! The day continued to be a
success with a 2nd Led Hack , 2nd
Ridden Hack 15-15.2hh, 1st Lightweight Hack
and after a beautiful workout stood out to win Champion
Hack in the first ring! This was my first attempt at
riding in the Open Hack ring so full credit to
“Broughtonvale Memory” for a beautiful ride and
making it one to remember! Mem showed how she is
committed to work no matter what is happening around
her.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Hayes of Pheasants Nest
(NSW) on her purchase of “Broughtonvale Merlin”.
This chestnut weanling is a full brother to “BV
Anastasia” and “BV Fantasia” who are both
excelling in polocrosse and dressage. This young horse
has made his way to his new home to enjoy ARC and some
hunting in the years to come.

Weaning and
branding of our young ones commenced with planned
gelding in the upcoming days for the poor boys! Only
one filly this year which we will be retained but the
boys are great types and will all make great saddle
horses! See the for sale page for details

RENMARK EFA
P/C Show
What a great
show! “Broughtonvale Memory” was ridden
beautifully by Kady Moore (Euston) to win Champion Hack
in ring 1 and went on to be sashed Supreme Ridden
Exhibit of the show. Credit must go to Kady for her
excellent ring skills in her “free workout” for
Champion. All aspects were displayed and this showed
Mem’s honesty and commitment to her work and gave Kady a
great ride! Kady won her rider class and went on to be
Champion Rider. This mare is a pleasure to do anything
with and easy to prepare!

RETURN TO THE NEST!
“Broughtonvale Memory”
returned home after several years lease with Kellie Bond
from Deniliquin. The young duo had wonderful success in
open hack classes as well as ASH classes. They made a
wonderful team! ‘Mem’ is a delight to stable and
much credit must go to Kellie (and mum, Judy) for her
great care over the last few years. It was a sad time
for them to return ‘Mem’ after such great success
but we wish them well with their new stable additions –
“Broughtonvale Recollections”, “Broughtonvale
Masserati”(pending) and “Broughtonvale Winfall”(pending).
BV Recollections is a full brother to Mem and is
nearly identical in markings! I am sure we will see them
in the winners circle very soon.

HORROR NEWS!
“Broughtonvale
Watercolour” underwent surgery to repair a partially
severed front tendon after a paddock injury. Only time
will tell if her show career is over but breeding is not
out of the question!!! Await a decision on her matched
partner!

APSB YOUNGSTOCK SHOW
We took 2 horses down to
Gawler to compete at this show. It was a great event to
showcase horses under 4yrs with most breeds represented
with weanlings though to 3 yr olds. “Broughtonvale
Renaissance” was sashed Supreme ASH Exhibit and
Supreme ANSA after winning Champion Yearling in his ASH
and ANSA classes. “Broughtonvale Watercolour”
was Champion 2yr old ASH and Res Champ 2yr ANSA.

SA ASH STATE FUTURITY
It was great to compete
in SA again this year at their ASH STATE FUTURITY
event. After a terrible week leading up to the event
with an extreme heat wave, it was nice to have a cool
change. This freshen our horses after a long, hot
trip. “Broughtonvale Royalty” was 3rd
in the Yearling Female Futurity; “Broughtonvale
Renaissance” did not disappoint with a win in the
Yearling Male Futurity and “Broughtonvale Watercolour”
was sashed 2yr old Female Futurity winner.
11th Oct 2008
BURRA AG SHOW
This was Burra’s first
year of supporting ASH classes and the newly introduced
ANSA classes. “Glen Lee Rivoli Resist” came out
of ‘Stud Duties’ to perform in the ASH classes proving
that a few years in retirement doesn’t mean you forget
how to perform! “Broughtonvale Renaissance”
successfully represented the ANSA classes also.
31 August 2008
WENTWORTH AG SHOW
“Broughtonvale
Renaissance” made his debut winning the Led ASH Male
class and was sashed Res Champion ASH. He competed
against all ages in this event and was not disgraced
with poring rain showing his impeccable temperament!
